Newcomers

Welcome to the Parish of Our Lady immaculate and st robert, Harrogate

We are delighted to welcome new members of our parish. If you have just moved into the area or are returning or simply coming to the church for the first time, please do make yourself known to Fr Simon.

An event in the parish centre will be held during 2025; an opportunity for new parishioners to come together to meet members of the parish pastoral council and to find out more about what happens in the parish.

The liturgical programme is set out in the bulletin with Mass on each day apart from Thursday and three Sunday Masses - Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 9am and 11am.  Confessions are at 4pm to 4.40pm on Saturdays and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on Fridays at 1130am.

Throughout the year there are other liturgical events such as Services of Reconciliation in Lent and Advent, Stations of the Cross in Lent, an annual 'Twenty Four Hours of Adoration for the Lord' and various opportunities to come together to discuss and discover more about our faith.

You will find our parish a source of many different groups that you might considering joining, not least of all to get to know other parishioners and make friends as we journey together in our Catholic Christian faith.

Soulcore provides an opportunity for women to come together to pray and exercise. The Men's Evening and Ladies Evening bring together the men and women of the parish for prayer and a social. The St Vincent de Paul Society does tremendous outreach work with the poor, elderly and sick. Throughout the year, particularly in Lent and Advent, courses and programmes designed to assist people in their knowledge of faith and to strengthen them in their spiritual lives are organised.

The RCIA programme (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) prepares new Catholics to be welcomed into the Church. Mothers' Prayers helps bring the mothers of the parish together in prayer and Mary's Angels provides much needed to support to young families with children.  The Children's Liturgy Group help widen our children's knowledge of faith in a fun and faith filled interlude at the 9am Sunday Mass. The St Robert's Young Adults' Group provides a forum for our young parishioners to come together in faith and friendship.

You may want to sign up for our newsletter here.  This gives a weekly update on the events and happenings in the parish.

You will find a parish registration form here and if you would like to gift aid to the parish, you will find the form for this here.

Please do let Fr Simon or our parish administrator, Caroline, know if there is anything we can do to help you settle in to the life of the parish.
